Your animal comes from your birth year, but if you were born before Ipchun (the start of spring, Feb 4), you count as the previous year's animal. Ipchun falls between Feb 3 and 5 depending on the year, so if your birthday is around then, check that year's date. Some families count the animal from Seollal (Lunar New Year) instead; this tool uses Ipchun (Feb 4). Your star sign comes from the month and day of your birthday (for example, Aries is Mar 21 – Apr 19 and Pisces is Feb 19 – Mar 20); boundary dates can shift by a day in some years. Readings are picked from pre-written sentences by today's date (changing at midnight Korea time) and the sign, so everyone with the same animal (or star sign) sees the same reading that day. Compatibility follows the traditional zodiac table (samhap and yukhap are good matches, chung and wonjin are prone to friction, plus same animal and otherwise neutral) and the relationship between star signs (same sign, same element, complementary elements such as fire–air or earth–water, opposite sign, or other). No scores or percentages are given.
This tool follows the tradition that treats Ipchun (Feb 4) as the start of the year, so anyone born from Jan 1 to Feb 3 gets the previous year's animal. Some families count from Lunar New Year instead; if that's what you're used to, just pick your animal from the list.
Yes. Sentences are chosen only by the date and the animal (or star sign), so everyone with the same animal sees the same reading that day. New sentences appear after midnight Korea time.
The moment the Sun crosses a sign boundary shifts slightly from year to year, so boundary birthdays can differ by a day depending on the source. Feel free to read both sign pages and choose the one that resonates more.
Zodiac compatibility uses the traditional table: samhap and yukhap (good matches), chung and wonjin (prone to friction), same animal, and otherwise neutral. Star signs are grouped as same sign, same element, complementary elements such as fire–air or earth–water, opposite sign, or other. There are no scores or probabilities.
